🧠Letting AI Build My Site... Kinda
Redesigned my personal website — and this time, I wanted it to be more than a static resume. So I thought: why not turn it into a microblog, and let AI help me build the whole thing?
That was the idea, anyway.
I kicked things off with ChatGPT, shared my plan, and asked what stack to use. It suggested Next.js + MDX — exactly what I had in mind.
Next step: design. I tried Uizard for UI generation, but after a bunch of prompts and tweaks, I just couldn't get it to look the way I imagined. Maybe my idea was a bit too weird for AI to "get." So I opened Figma and whipped it up myself in under 15 minutes. Classic.
Then came Copilot Agents. I gave it a super detailed prompt to build the whole site from scratch. A few hours (and a dozen prompt rewrites) later... yeah, no. Turns out we're not quite at the "AI builds everything" future yet.
So I pivoted. Instead of making AI the builder, I made it the assistant — and that worked much better.
Anyway, here's the first version. Still lots to improve. Stay tuned 👀
P.S. Maybe I'm just bad at prompting. Or maybe AI's not there yet. Either way, we'll find out soon... I guess. 😅
